LCP-5 Lens Aberration and Fourier Optics Kit

Short Description:

In an ideal optical system, all rays of light from a point in the object plane would converge to the same point in the image plane, forming a clear image. A perfect lens would show the image of a point as a point and a straight line as a straight line, but in practice, lenses are never perfect. 6 experiments in this kit illustrate why we can’t see a “true image”.

The Fourier transform properties of a lens provide numerous applications in optical signal processing. Spatial filtering is one of the most important one, which will be explained in the 7th experiment.
