LEAT-5 Thermal Expansion Experiment

Short Description:

This apparatus employs a Michelson interferometer and an oven, adopts the electric heating method, the solid line is the thermal expansion coefficient of a precision measuring instrument, the various thermal expansion of solid and features to make quantitative detection; Using the linear expansion of metal sample to drive the plane mirror to move, the Michelson interference fringes are changed. According to the number of striations, the length change of the specimen is measured, and then the linear expansion coefficient is obtained. Compared with the method of steam heating and light lever, it has the advantages of small size, short sample, small power consumption and high accuracy.
