He-Ne laser is a laser with Ne as working substance and Helium as auxiliary gas. Helium acts as a medium for producing lasers and increasing the output power of lasers, while neon acts as a laser. He-Ne laser can produce many kinds of laser spectral lines in visible and infrared regions, among which the main ones are red light of 0.6328 μm and infrared light of 1.15 μm and 3.39 μm. He-Ne laser has very good directivity and coherence. It has simple structure, long life, compact and cheap, and stable frequency. It has been widely used in electronic color separator, laser phototypesetter, laser plate maker, holographic photo production and laser printer, as well as computing technology, ranging (anti-aircraft gun shooting simulation), marking (sawmill machinery), automatic control and so on. He-Ne laser is a quartz tube with He-Ne gas. Under the excitation of electronic oscillator, inelastic collision occurs, which makes the electron transition and emits infrared rays.
