The specific heat capacity of iron and aluminum samples at 100 ℃ was measured in two different cooling environments with copper as the standard sample. According to Newton’s law of cooling, the instrument measures the specific heat capacity of metal by cooling method. In the experimental method, the cooling conditions of the samples are not only the natural cooling at room temperature, but also the forced convection by fan, so that the advantages and disadvantages of the two cooling conditions can be compared and analyzed; in the experimental device, the PTC heating plate with temperature limiting function is used in the heater, and the temperature sensor is replaced by PT100 platinum resistance The traditional copper constantan thermocouple needs ice water mixture as the cold end, and the heater and the sample chamber are changed from the traditional vertical structure to the left and right horizontal structure, and the up and down movement of the heater inside and outside the sample chamber is changed to the left and right sliding of the sample between the heater and the sample chamber, which makes the experimental operation more convenient.

 

Experiments

1. Learn to measure temperature using PT100 platinum resistance;

2. Under forced convective cooling, measure specific heat capacity of iron and aluminum samples at 100 °C;

3. Under natural cooling, measure specific heat capacity of iron and aluminum samples at 100 °C.
