Hall element has been widely used in the measurement of magnetic field because of its small size, easy to use, high measurement accuracy, and can measure AC and DC magnetic fields. It is also equipped with other devices for position, displacement, speed, angle and other physical measurement and automatic control. The Hall effect tester is designed to help students understand the experimental principle of Hall effect, measure the sensitivity of Hall elements, and learn how to use Hall elements to measure magnetic induction. The model fd-hl-5 Hall effect experiment instrument adopts GaAs Hall element (sample) for measurement. The hall element has the characteristics of high sensitivity, wide linear range and small temperature coefficient, so the experimental data are stable and reliable.

Description

Hall devices have been widely used to measure magnetic fields. Together with other devices, Hall devices are used for automatic control and measurements of position, displacement, speed, angle, and other physical quantities. This apparatus is mainly designed to help students understand the principle of Hall effect, measure the sensitivity of a Hall element, and learn how to measure magnetic field intensity with a Hall element.

Experiments

1. GaAs Hall element has high sensitivity, wide linear range, and small temperature coefficient.

2. Small working current of Hall element yields stable and reliable experimental data.

3. Visible shape and structure of test sample and Hall element yield intuitive result.

4. Durable instrument incorporates protective mechanism.

Using this apparatus, the following experiments can be performed:

1. Acquire the relationship between Hall current and Hall voltage under a DC magnetic field.

2. Measure the sensitivity of a GaAs Hall element.

3. Measure the magnetization curve of silicon steel material using a GaAs Hall element.

4. Measure the distribution of a magnetic field along horizontal direction using a Hall element.
